About This Opportunity:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Webmaster/DBA/Server Administrator to join our Engineering Team.
A highly qualified candidate will contribute in the following ways:
The Webmaster/DBA/Server Administrator will play a critical role in defining, implementing and maintaining our data infrastructure. This individual will also maintain, create and expand customer web interfaces. The Webmaster must be able to code methodically, always being conscious of the user interface and of multiple browser-compatibility issues. This individual will be involved in all phases of the software development life cycle, including definition, development, operation, optimization, safeguarding, and maintenance. The Webmaster/DBA will perform data conversion activities; translate logical database requirements into physical designs and implement the physical designs on the database servers; optimize efficiency and performance of the MySQL databases and applications; coordinate and implement database rollouts (including testing and certification); develop and implement new database applications; and provide direction for web-based application architecture and security needs. This individual could also become involved in the software development of our fleet performance data mining and analysis frameworks.
A highly qualified candidate will have the following:
We’re seeking Webmaster/DBAs who are high-energy professionals with enthusiastic outlooks and entrepreneurial spirits, and who possess the following skill set:
- Fluent in Python, Django, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Linux administration
- Knowledge of Twisted network programming, Nginx, RabbitMQ, Celery: distributed task queue, and Gunicorn a plus
- In-depth understanding of multiple browser-compatibility issues necessary
- Strong, current DBA skills using MySQL with 2+ years of experience required; other rdbms experience is a plus
- Excellent database sizing, tuning, optimization, and data conversion skills
- Interest in data mining, analysis, and predictive diagnostics is a plus
- BS/BA, ideally in technical program, or 4+ years professional experience
- Ability to design and support moderately to very complex database structures
- Ability to accurately forecast database requirements and proactively manage issues
- Strong project management skills preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
- Ability to travel to support the design, testing, and installation of products in both national and international locations
- Many administrative functions will be required
