Test Engineer

About This Opportunity

The ideal candidate will design and execute product system tests to ensure performance and design standards compliance as well as their optimization. In this high impact role, the successful candidate will actively coordinate with Mechanical Engineers, Product Development, and Applications Engineering departments to help establish testing methods and concepts for products and systems that validate current product efforts and advance ongoing product initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Hands on assembly, prototype builds, and field fitment of sub-assemblies for design certification of mechanical and electrical aspects of the robotic tracker system.
  • Contribute to design discussions concerning various aspects of the product, providing feedback to design engineering group
  • Compilation of concise and coherent reports and presentations
  • Compile, organize, and archive for ready access ongoing test data
  • Implement planning, procuring, organization, and maintaining test equipment and materials
  • Comply with safety policies and regulations

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of mechanical structural test engineering / product testing
  • Expertise in instrumentation (strain gauges, accelerometers, load cells, temperature setting, etc.) and DAQ (NI-DAQ, Arduino)
  • Experience of light / heavy equipment testing and / or structural load testing
  • Experience with vibration testing (product and packaging)
  • Ability to support the design, testing, and initial installation of products in both national and international locations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Experience with solar panel testing (relative to UL/CSA certifications) is a plus.
  • Experience with Python, Confluence, UNIX operating systems, Autodesk Inventor is a plus
